Above all else, Home Again Counseling provides clients with a safe and nonjudgmental environment.

Our therapy practice is goal-oriented and strength-based. We utilize a variety of approaches that best fit your needs. We do not believe in a “once size fits all’ approach. We ensure all of our therapists have specialized trauma focused training. Therapist certifications may include Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Online Therapy (BC-TMH).

The goal of therapy is to become more mindful of our automatic negative thought patterns and actions so we can change them.

Meet Your Therapists:

Dina Flynt, M.S., LMHC.

Dina Flynt, M.S., LMHC.

Dina Flynt, PhD., LMHC is a licensed mental health counselor and Co-owner of Home Again Counseling. She has worked in the mental health field helping individuals and their families for over 20 years.  Dina has experience in a variety of settings, including private practice, the foster care system, community mental health and the school system.  Dina takes a holistic approach to therapy. She knows body, mind and spirit are all connected and past traumas affect all three. By exploring the negative thought patterns we have about ourselves in a nonjudgmental, supportive, and safe environment, she helps clients develop a better understanding of their feelings and behaviors. Reprocessing these feelings and thoughts helps you develop better coping skills, healthier relationships and improves outlooks on life.  To help with those “would’ve, should’ve, could’ve” thoughts, she teaches mindfulness skills to help clients get out of their heads and be more in the present.  As a parent, she relates to the feeling of losing control. Dina's goal is to work together with you and help you reach a place where you feel at home with yourself.

Jackie Harvel, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with years of experience in community settings and private practice working with couples and adults with (complex) trauma, attachment issues, relational struggles, depression, and areas managing anxiety, self- esteem, and life transitions. Jackie understands talking about difficult issues can be challenging and uncomfortable. Her empathic, calm demeanor provides a safe space for couples and individuals to discuss problem areas in their lives. Jackie’s goal is to build a trusting relationship, so, together we work on ways to improve those areas and lead a more fulfilling life.

As a certified EMDR therapist and Certified Complex Trauma Professional, Jackie understands the importance of educating clients about mental health symptoms and how the brain is affected by trauma. This allows clients to understand why they think, feel, and behave in the ways they do. Together, we work on identifying ways to improve self-worth, repair and maintain healthy relationships, and heal from past traumas.

Jackie uses an attachment focused approach, utilizing Ego State therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused techniques. Eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is integrated into treatment when appropriate for those struggling with trauma symptoms and negative patterns of thinking. When working with couples, emotion-focused therapy (EFT) and Gottman’s method is utilized to improve emotional connection and secure attachments.
